For the godan verbs, instead of -se-rareru forms, the -sareru forms shown in red above also commonly occur. The ending -serareru is gramatically correct for godan verbs. But the -sareru forms are more common than the -serareru forms. However, for ichidan and kahen verbs, -sareru forms do not exist. For example, mi-sareru, kake-sareru, ko-sareru are impossible.

If hanasu is used, more than an order/request and receiving the order is implied. I'd say that the interlocutors arrange what kind of chocolate to bring, how much, if at all, the tip is, when to bring and why it has to be chocolate and so on.

I used to take lists of words I'd read somewhere to my teachers and they often would tell me that a lot of the words and even grammar forms(である instead of です)for example, were usually only used in written Japanese and literature. To be fair.. Iu, hanasu, shaberu and kataru don't all just mean "say". It's like in English where there are different words for say, talk, speak, tell, chat and so on.
